Artist's Comments

On soft petals I walk
Seeking out my prey
I wait in darkness
Looking for subtle change
You are not aware of my intentions
But I am of yours
I would act on instinct
If it weren’t for these locked doors.

The spots of a leopard do not change
One could say the same about ignorant people

I remember the day I took this shot, very clearly. This beautiful creature was pacing around in its small cage. To my right were a group of grown men taunting the leopard, for reasons unknown. I thought for a moment what must be going in this animals mind, was it instinct, was it fear, was it revenge?

This was a tough shot for me. The leopard’s cage was very dark and I had to wait for it to hit this exact spot so the light through the trees would illuminate the leopard. In addition to this I could not get close enough to the fence to completely knock the fence out of the frame. I had to work quite a bit to save this one, including burning the fence marks out of the image and rebuilding the lower paw of the leopard, which consequently, did not make it into the frame. A rookie mistake, I guess. Hopefully some of you can appreciate this one.

If you would like to see image before I photoshopped it just send me a note.

I greatly appreciate your support and thank you very much for your time.
